Día de los Muertos Art Crawl & Street Party

40 West Arts, a state-certified arts district in Lakewood, CO invites the public to a huge celebration based loosely around the theme of Diá de los Muertos on First Friday November 1st  from 6-9pm. In conjunction with Denver Arts Week and their event ‘Know Your Arts First Friday’, all of our galleries, studios and creative businesses will be open to the public and visitors to the district will see multiple exhibits inspired by Diá de los Muertos, including pieces by local grade school students and altars in all of our galleries and creative businesses.

Watch Aztec dancers in traditional costume and see fire artists, who will be on hand spinning fire to brighten the winter night in a display of light and shadow. This kid & family event will also showcase piñatas, Diá de los Muertos face painting, live music and local vendors. You can also join a candlelight processional that starts in front of Casa Bonita and winds its way through the core of the district. Sip beer and wine while you’re here, or enjoy a bite at a local food truck. This fun, immersive event is not to be missed.
